Due to the nature of SoundLink broadcasts these games were only broadcast to players between 6:00 and 6:50PM on broadcast dates. It featured 'SoundLink' narration (radio drama-style streaming voice data intended to guide players through the game and give helpful hints and advice). Each episode had to be downloaded by players from St.GIGA (at NikoNiko Ranch on the BS-X cartridge) during a specified broadcast week and during a specified time-window.

(Especially since you've bought FoMT already and MFoMT can be hard to find/wasn't even released in your region.BS Bokujō Monogatari (BS 牧場物語) was an episodically released ura- or gaiden-version of the original Harvest Moon consisting of 4 unique episodes on the Satellaview. There was no physical PAL (Asia, Africa, Europe and Oceania) version released, only NTSC (USA & Canada) & Japanese.įorgive me if I shouldn't mention this but GBA games are now easily emulated even on a basic smart phone so you have little excuse not to try it. The town cottage costs 10,000,000G instead of 100,000,000G (Japanese version) New events with villagers occur not seen in the original FoMT. The 'Van's Favourite' item now comes randomly in the mail, which you can sell to Won for lots of money or give to Van for exclusive items.Ĭorrections and fixes have been made to the script and other in-game text. There is a new Farming Degree system where you earn points based on tasks you complete.Īlong with the three original jewels, there are 9 new Rings to collect. You can now sell items to Won, including non-shippable items. You can change your outfit color at the mirror. You are now able to marry the 5 male rivals/bachelors instead.ģ extra new bachelors including Kappa, The Gormate, and Won.

It does have some differences, which I've listed below, but it is the most definitive version of FoMT in my opinion: I think you should've went with MFoMT instead.

Good luck, and I really hope you enjoy whichever games you do play, in or out of the BokuMono series. (Though Fantasy Life and Disney Magical World came close for me.) I don't agree there either, but for an action RPG crossed with a life and farming Sim, they have no equals. On top of that, you could try the BokuMono spinoff series, Rune Factory, which many users feel are actually better successors to the legacy. Beyond that, there is at least one BokuMono game for every Nintendo mainstream system, and a few PlayStation games.Īlso, Natsume is trying to recapture the old feeling of Harvest Moon in their in-house rebooted Harvest Moon series, though I don't think they're close yet, but the upcoming Seeds of Memories does sound loads better than The Lost Valley already. Hero of Leaf Valley is my fave, and Magical Melody was a great retro combination cast game. There is also a very rich selection of older Bokujō Monogatari games that you may not have played yet. There are many new games coming out, like Astraea, Wild Season, Stardew Valley, Orange Season, and others that you may be interested in. You aren't alone in your opinion (though I don't agree, I really dug both ANB and SoS). On the other hand if I can get into the right mindset, it feels more natural, like I'm living in Castanet for a while.

I have mixed feelings about this: on the one hand, when I just want to progress, things take longer. One thing about AP that you might not like even though you didn't say it is that the clock is much, much slower than in FoMT. I could probably have made substantive progress in the romantic department, but I kinda don't want to marry Jin, so I've held off.) (I just started the first Autumn I have 5 friends, and will have 6 more soon. It slows down my relationship progress, but not to an unacceptable extent. Since I find the rubbing mechanic so incredibly dumb, I'm just refusing to use it. Which newer games have you tried? Currently I am playing Animal Parade, and except for the stupid rubbing mechanic (which allows you to use a second Wii remote to get easy relationship increases), I don't notice any of the gripes you are describing, except for the loss of the harvest sprite assistance.
